Dates
Our Winter/Spring Alpha begins Wednesday, February 4, 2026 with Alpha Launch Night -- a fun “Come & See” dinner where you'll get to meet new people, explore life's biggest questions and get a sense of what to expect -- with zero commitment to return.
After Launch Night, the Alpha dinners & conversations will continue and run for 10 weeks; and at midpoint, will invite you to step away from life's hurried pace for a day retreat at the Convent of St Birgitta in Darien, CT.
To learn more about Alpha, to find out if it's for you, do join us for dinner on February 4th. Please use the button below to let us know you're coming.
What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith over food and group conversations. Talks explore the big questions of life, spirituality, and faith from a Christian lens in a laid back and non-judgmental environment.
It’s for those who do not consider themselves Christians or for those who are rethinking their faith. If you are curious, skeptical, or just have questions, bring them to Alpha and explore them with new friends!
What to expect?
Alpha runs in cafés, churches, homes, parks — you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but they generally have three key things in common: food, a short video, and good conversation.
Food
Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with food, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other.
Talk
The talks are played as a video and designed to engage and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as “Who is Jesus?” and “How can we have faith?”
Discussion
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and explore ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
There is a place for you to serve on the Alpha Team!
We are always looking for friends of Alpha to help run the course every term; whether with hosting, facilitating conversation, providing a meal, greeting and so on. If you are interested in helping and would like to learn more, please complete the short form at the link below.
