Introducing Trinity-Darien’s New Associate Pastor - Meg Newton

Dear Trinity Family,

If you were in-person with us this morning you would have heard the good news that our lengthy search for a new Associate Pastor for Trinity-Darien has concluded. We are thrilled to share that beginning on Sunday, September 26, Meg Newton (a Trinity congregant and former staff member) will step into this role; shepherding, leading, and teaching in Darien along with me!

To get to this point, we embarked on a thorough search process, including tapping into seminaries and broad pastoral networks. We had more than 20 candidates and interviewed 14, in some cases over multiple visits.

Through this process, we sensed that in Meg we had someone who deeply loves Jesus, His Church (including Trinity Church), has a rare combination of gifts, and exhibits deep spiritual maturity and wisdom. She is someone who embodies the fruit of the spirit, and who brings a rich, and in some cases unique, set of ministry experiences to the table.

During this journey, Meg shared with us that she has been praying for the right person to join the pastoral team, regardless of who that was. This was not something that Meg had necessarily envisioned for her next assignment, but through this two-way time of discernment, we and she have full confidence that the Lord has been leading and guiding.

We are so excited about this news! Please join me in welcoming Meg, along with her husband Jeff and their children Ivy and TJ, as they step into this new adventure.

In Christ,

Ben Valentine
Senior Pastor
